The Harbor Square is a 4-acre, 180-unit residential community located within a stone’s throw of the Bainbridge Island ferry terminal. This project provides 15,000 s.f. of retail space and 264 covered parking spaces. There will be a total of five three- and four-story wood framed buildings constructed on top of a concrete podium, and three additional residential structures surrounding. A wide, shallow beam system is used for the elevated concrete decks to improve the parking layout below. Another unique design feature is the goal to preserve the original rustic feel by providing park-like open space. The podium slab is designed for various landscape loading conditions to accomplish this goal.
